Chicken Nuggets Game

Posted by Picasa
We took the boys to their first professional basketball game tonight. The Nuggets played the Pistons. We told them we were going to watch the Denver Nuggets play basketball. We walked into the Pepsi Center and Jake asked "is this where the chicken nuggets game is?"

It's hard to get good pictures when I am sitting right next to them...I tried. Oh, and we got on the Jumbotron......again. Hmmmmm....I think it may have something to do with the boys since we NEVER get on the big tv without those hams with us. They have been really good when we take them to games (lucky for them, because this means they can continue to come).
OH, OH, OH, I almost forgot the best part......the halftime show was a performance by Digital Underground. Memba them???? Do the humpty hump - ha ha do the humpty hump.....Classic!

Eclipse

We went out tonight to see if we could see the Lunar Eclipse that was to occur at 8:01. Of course the boys were asking what an eclipse is, so Erik started to explain about the earth's shadow blocking the sunlight....We couldn't see the moon, but Erik told them that if we had a telescope we could probably see it. "WE HAVE A TELESCOPE DADDY!!! IT'S ON OUR SWINGSET!!!" So away we went to the backyard to use the telescope to find the moon. Jake was sure he had found it and tried to show Ben where it was.

Happy Valentine's Day

Things I liked about today......
The card on my pillow this morning from my incredible husband.
Being content to put on our pajamas and eat takeout with our kids instead of wanting to go out to an overbooked, overpriced restaurant.

Cards from Grandma and Grandpa that the boys wanted to hang on the fridge (and letting them because it is a "special day").
Talking to Nana and Papa on the phone and telling them thank you for the talking puppy that the mailman brought.

The hugs and kisses and sheer delight when we gave them a box of conversation hearts and new boots for 'grass races'.

I hope you all had a fabulous day as well :)

Beauuuuuutiful Day

The weather was just great today....a little windy, but I'll certainly take a bit of blowing with the amount of sunshine we got. We spent the majority of the day outside - swinging, biking, scootering, hockeying, baseballing....definitely my kind of day!

Ben takes hockey so seriously. Just look at that face! What I don't have a picture of is when he bangs himself into the side of the house (yep, he watches a lot of hockey on tv)

if it looks like we did a little of everything...well, we did! The boys went from one outdoor toy to the other - I don't know who was more excited to play outside - mommy or the boys :)

Look behind Ben. Geeeez, I need to be thankful for the 3rd car garage. The boys have taken up their own garage as well as the majority of the house. Who knew?
By the way.....I think pictures from tomorrow will be drastically different. Stay tuned.

Turns out my friend and Cooper and Mason's mommy did a much better job of summing up our museum experience - plus her pictures are better

Out of the mouth of Jake

A typical dinner conversation:

Mommy "eat your chili Jake"
Jake "I don't like chili"
Mommy "have you ever tried chili?"
Jake "nope!"
Mommy "you cannot decide that you don't like something until you try it - have a bite of chili Jake"

and so on and so on.

Later that night.....
(after witnessing an action SO disgusting, but one that most every toddler participates in)

Mommy "JAKE! do NOT eat your boogers"
Jake "why?"
Mommy "because eating boogers is yucky....use a kleenex"
Jake "why is it yucky?"
Mommy "because boogers are yucky"
Jake "do you like to eat your boogers"
Mommy "no"
Jake "Mommy have you ever tried boogers?"

and so on and so on.....

ZooZeum

We went to the ZooZeum (Jake/Ben Speak for the Museum of Nature and Science) with the boys' buddies - Cooper and Mason. Funniest line of the day......in the 'body parts' area, Jake comes running over to me from across the room screaming "look Mommy, I got her boobies!!!!" (he had taken the the lungs out of the explanation body.)
