SUMMER WRAP UP - 2010

Now that Labor Day has come and gone, it feels more and more like the summer is ending - NOOOOOOO! But honestly, no regrets. I would say that summer 2010 was a success. We did something we hope to do from now on. We sat down as a family at the beginning of the summer and made a 'wish list' of everything we wanted to do, and then we put it on the calendar. Oh, and it was a summer of swimming....we spent at least three days a week at the pool - bliss!!! Here are some recent piks from my camera.....

GOLF!
We spent as much time as we could on the golf course as a family this summer.
When we were in town, the four of us would be out on a Sunday afternoon trying to get in as many holes as possible (most of the time it was 18!)

Thursday nights are family nights at the Club. Erik often came home early and we would play 9 holes and then have dinner - they had a special kids dinner complete with a face a painter/balloon creator.
This is by far one of my favorite family activities.
We even enrolled the boys in a Saturday morning golf clinic - they are definitely improving (the longer attention span has been helpful too).

KINDERGARTEN!! :( !!!
Yep, they started kindergarten. My emotions were pretty mixed with this milestone. On one hand I was sad. Sad because my little guys are growing up and spending less time at home with us and less and less time 'needing' us. On the other hand, they are growing up....I love that they are having new experiences, starting a new school - a big boy school - making new friends, becoming more independent, learning and becoming responsible, smart little guys.

Ms. Bachman - so, so sweet!
~Birthday~
JAKE AND BEN ARE 6 YEARS OLD!!!!!
Birthday Morning....

They thought they had really scored when they opened up backpacks and lunch boxes from Nana and Papa.

We gave them 'hockey guys' and 'football guys' - can you even imagine? Who had more fun - Erik or the boys? Let me just point out that this is right up the Isernhagen boys' alley!!!
~Birthday Party~
Jake and Ben's 6th birthday party was at a pirate themed water park called Pirates Cove. Water slides, diving boards, a lazy river, pizza, cake and friends. Happy 6th Birthday Isernhagen boys!!!

~Another Rockies Game - this time ON the field~
The boys had a chance to walk around the field at Coors field before a Rockies home game with Erik some of the boys from their tball team. They thought that was 'pretty awesome'!

~Pool Party~
Couple of piks from their friend Austin's pool birthday party. Pinata......
~ESTES PARK~
We took our annual trip to Estes Park. We refer to this as "Jackson's Vacation".

Jackson found this 'stick' in the lake

~COOKING WITH MOM~
The boys take every chance they can get to help me cook now that they have new aprons (thanks Ms. Melissa). Here they are making pancakes.

Erik won his member/guest golf tournament at Castle Pines CC. He had such a great time playing with his friend Rick. Not too shabby for only his second year playing as a member. Here he is celebrating with his trophy filled with Vodka/Tonic.

~T-Ball team pool party~
Another pool party at their friend Spencer's house for the end of tball season.

Jake and Ben receiving their t-ball trophies from Coach Troy.

~Another big moment~
Jake lost his first tooth this summer. Before the tooth fairy came the boys were speculating on how much money she would leave under the pillow. Erik and I told them we got 25-50 cents. They decided with inflation he would get about $100 (she left $3).
~Friends~
We had a play date most Fridays with our St. Andrews friends. This is one day at our house during cool down/rest time - outdoor movie and popcorn!!!
