Colorado Blizzard '06!

We're in the middle of a blizzard at the moment. Seriously, a blizzard!!!! We're talking multiple FEET of snow! The word is that we've gotten 30" so far. What Fun! The entire cul-de-sac has been out and buzzing most of the day. Everyone has their own little versions of sled hills and snow forts. Most of us went from house to house playing with them all! Oh, and then there was the shoveling.......it has actually been a fun challenge. The airport has been closed for two days now. It's not looking good for our friends that need to catch flights in order to be with their families for the holidays. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Erik and I got into the big 'ole Sequoia tonight and plowed through the streets to see a movie - Pursuit of Happyness - (I recommend it). Yep, we found a theater that was open and it was nice to be there right when the movie was starting and STILL get a decent seat.

HAPPY WINTER!!!!!!!!!!

SNOWMAN!!!

I just got the boys out of the bathtub and was in the process of getting them dressed. I turned my back and I heard them yelling SNOWMAN! This is how I found them - boots on and ready to go......how do you explain to a 2 year old that we can't build a snowman today - it's 60 degrees?

I thought I heard Jake mumble something like "this global warming crap stinks!"

In order to get the boys to sleep for their naps, I have to lay in the middle of their beds to keep them from playing while they are supposed to be napping (not too bad for me....I get to catch up on my reading). Anyway, I had to smile when I heard Jake in his bed reading his book to his friend Calliou (a stuffed little boy who talks when you push his hand). He's such a sweet boy. Posted by Picasa

Play time

We had a play date on Friday with Miss Kim, Miss Laura and Little Annika. This picture cracks me up..... Annika just didn't want to sit in the middle of 2 stinky boys. Ben thinks it's funny, and Jake just doesn't understand why she is crying. By the way, thanks for the yummy cookies and pumpkin bread girls. Posted by Picasa

Random

We went to Erik's parents house to help them decorate their tree (it's a tradition on Erik's moms birthday). They have so many ornaments, including all of the crafty items Kira and Erik made as kids. Erik found an ornament that had a picture of him at 3 years old on it. He showed it to Ben and asked "who is this". Ben said "me!" We asked Jake who it was and Jake said "Ben!". It is amazing how much Ben looks like Erik as a child. Posted by Picasa

Jake lined up all of his ornaments in a row.....side by side....on his level. Posted by Picasa

Gobble, Gobble, Gobble

We had our 10th Annual "Thanksgiving in the Mountains with Friends" this past weekend. We missed Dave who moved to Boston for Grad. school, and Rob and Eva who were unable to come from Germany because "Baby Gould" will be here in a few months - hope everyone will be able to make it next year :)

We get a different house every Thanksgiving and this one had 10 bedrooms! Although there wasn't a ton of snow, we still ventured out to sled and build a snow fort. We also took the boys ice skating for the first time - cute, cute, cute!!!! As usual, there were many cocktails consumed, lots yummy meals, poker and board games played. Great weekend with friends.....I'm already looking forward to next year!

See below for a little video of the weekend -

Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving as much as we did.

Happy Halloween!!!!!

This was our first fun trick or treat year. (They were cute and all last year, but they didn't really understand it.) This year they would walk up to the doors and say "Happy Ween"!!!!! Jake could have stayed out all night, but after about 5 houses, Ben was asking to go home. I think Ben mostly wanted to hand out candy and chat with all of the kids that came to our door. Unless.......there was a scary mask or witch involved.....at that point there was a bit of crying. Below are piks of the boys and some of their favorite neighbor friends. I can already see into the future with Jake....right now he is arranging his candy and taking some of Ben's when he isn't looking - he's just like his Dad :)
