Happy Halloween!!!!!

This was our first fun trick or treat year. (They were cute and all last year, but they didn't really understand it.) This year they would walk up to the doors and say "Happy Ween"!!!!! Jake could have stayed out all night, but after about 5 houses, Ben was asking to go home. I think Ben mostly wanted to hand out candy and chat with all of the kids that came to our door. Unless.......there was a scary mask or witch involved.....at that point there was a bit of crying. Below are piks of the boys and some of their favorite neighbor friends. I can already see into the future with Jake....right now he is arranging his candy and taking some of Ben's when he isn't looking - he's just like his Dad :)

Weekend Away

Erik and I went to Scottsdale last weekend - there aren't any piks because we didn't bring the camera (you know the drill.....what happens in Scottsdale, stays in Scottsdale - HA!!!) Erik had a conference and we stayed for the weekend for my birthday.

We had a WONDERFUL time. We stayed here, we golfed here, had massages here, and dinner here. I would certainly recommend this trip. We were also able to meet up with an old pal of mine from my Pocatello days for lunch. It was great to see you Erin:)

Nana and Papa came from Idaho to stay with the boys. Before they left, we went to Boulder and had lunch on Pearl street. It's a good place to tool around and people watch (if any of you see my Dad, ask him about the things he saw - his eyes were WIDE open).

There was a guy who said he was an artist and asked if he could draw a picture of the boys (for a donation of course). Anyway, when he was done he gave us the picture and told us how special it was, not to fold it, and to frame it. See below for the picture.....exact replica? Framing material? I think NOT! It certainly gave us a good laugh though.

Fun with Nana and Papa

Fun things the boys did with Nana and Papa.....played in the leaves, built a snowman, went swimming, blew lots of bubbles, decorated cookies, rode around on "horsie Papa's" back....and played, played played!

Snowstorm!

We got lots of snow yesterday - Erik even worked from home (the NEVER happens). The boys and I tried to accommodate and be quiet and out of his way (so I could prove to him that he could work here once in a while), but of course it didn't work. When Daddy is home the boys want to be right by his side. Oh well, we got one day! Jake and Ben went out to help Erik shovel in the morning. We didn't have shovels for them, so they improvised with hockey sticks (we bought them their own shovels later in the day). As you can see by the pictures, the snow was wet and coming down hard - I think we ended up with about a foot! Although Ben HAD to be cold, he wouldn't come in until Erik did. Jake and Jackson on the other hand, were ready to come in for hot chocolate (and a meaty bone).

Wenger Wedding

We went to Dan and Jamie's wedding last weekend - the wedding was in a cute church in the mountains/foothills with a beautiful view, and the reception was held at Fossil Trace Golf Club. We had a great time. I could only find one picture of the bride and groom where you can see both of their faces, but we got quite a few of the rest of the gang (whose wedding was it anyway?)

Joel caught the garter.....I think the girl that caught the bouquet was maybe 21 - GO JOEL! :)

Rainy Days and Mondays

Guess what I saw when I came down the stairs this morning? For those of you who know me well, you're probably thinking "what's the big deal? she gets at least one of these every single day". But to me, it is one of the most thoughtful things to have your husband go out before he leaves for work, on a rainy....cold.... Monday morning and bring you back a 'grande, 3 pump vanilla, nonfat latte' - just to be nice! Thanks Honey.

Big Boy Bed

Ben started climbing out of his crib a couple of weeks ago, so we decided it was time to convert their cribs into 'toddler beds'. What a challenge! Although it really stinks that the boys can get out of bed by themselves (usually between 5:30-6:00 am), this scene melts my heart (see below) - Jake climbs into bed with Ben - cute, cute, cute!
