Not too much to report. Erik and I went to Vegas for the weekend and I didn't bring my camera (what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.....). Mom came to stay with the boys. I don't know who had more fun, her or them. Geeeez! I looked at the blog after this post - do I like the color orange or what? Maybe I'm just visually preparing myself for fall and Pumpkin Day!
Oh! This is new....The talking has begun! And now is the time to be careful what we say. I was making dinner tonight and Jake was sitting at the breakfast bar coloring. I spilled something and said "oh poop!" Jake said "oh poop, poop, oh poop, poop, poop". I'm glad I only said poop.

CU vs CSU
We had tickets to take the boys to their first University of Colorado football game today. We didn't end up getting out of hospital in time to go (see below), so we ended up watching it at home. The wrong team won :( but the boys seemed to enjoy watching the game anyway.
The Hospital
Yep, that's where we've been the past couple of days.......in Erik's hospital room, in recovery, in the surgery waiting area, the playground at the hospital..... Erik went in for (what we thought) was going to be a routine procedure on Thursday. The procedure ended up taking us to.......an emergency room visit, complications, complications, complications, hospital admission, another procedure, possible blood transfusion (luckily, not needed), 3 days and 2 nights at the hospital, then finally home today. Erik is home resting now and appears to be feeling much better :)

Yard Work
Erik started mowing the lawn tonight and the boys couldn't run fast enough to get their mowers out. They followed Erik around for a couple of swipes until Mom intervened (maybe a bit overprotective, but I just knew a rogue stick was going to fly up and hit them in the head).
Erik gave them their own area to mow, but they started rolling around in the grass and forgot what they were doing (I see a lot of that happening when they are teenagers).
You may be saying to yourself "what's up with that skull cap that Ben is wearing"......that hat is actually a little beanie that the boys wore when they were teeny tiny. Ben must have dug it out of one of the drawers in their room - he's been wearing it around for the last couple of days.

Grand Lake
Our friends, Troy and Amy were married this weekend in Grand Lake. It was such a beautiful setting and a wonderful wedding - Congratulations Troy and Amy!
The boys were so cute.....although, they couldn't grasp the concept that they shouldn't talk through the ceremony. Ben was telling me all about the boat in the water and Jake just swore he heard a train.....Jake - "train, DADDY, TRAIN!" Erik -"shhhhh Jake" Jake - "TRAAAAAAINNNNNNNN Daaaaaaaaaaaaady!"
Ben was in an exceptionally good mood all night long! He had his dancing shoes on! He was out on the dance floor whenever he had the chance.
Unfortunately, Jake was sick. He came down with an awful cold the night before. I felt so sorry for him - the poor little man was just miserable. He slept through most of the reception :(
The Woods
We stayed at Brian's parent's condo in Winter Park for the weekend. There were great woods to explore nearby
