Yep, this Jake, all dirty faced from dinner showing me the band around his arm that has his name and vital information on it. We got it when we were in the emergency room today.
I was folding clothes this morning while the boys were playing in my closet. Jake runs to me crying as hard as I've seen him cry. After holding him and trying to get the reason for the tears, I notice that his mouth is bleeding. I don't see anything on his lips, cheek or teeth, so I assumed it was his tongue. We rinsed out his mouth and gave him some ice water. I asked "buddy, does your tongue feel better?" He told me his tongue didn't hurt, but the roof of his mouth did. HOLY COW!!!!! He had a huge gash that had turned purple with some skin hanging. I asked what he did, and he showed me a piece of pvc pipe. Mystery solved! He had the pipe in his mouth and fell down.

I won't bore with the details of me running to my neighbor and asking her what to do - thanks Tammy and Travis for keeping Ben as I ran out of my house in a panic!
Erik met us at the E.R. where they took an XRay (apparently, there is artery in your mouth - hmmmm, who knew?) Anyway, we found that he didn't damage the artery and they sent us on our way with some antibiotics and vicodin (I know, he's only 2! They had some other fancy name for vicodin, but it was still vicodin).

Just another day in The Ranch~

Oh My Heck!!! But of course PVC pipe goes in your mouth. I mean it fits doesn't it???? Wow life with kids is anything but boring aye? Glad to see he is okay. It would be nice to think that this has cured him of sticking strange things in his mouth but I am sure you have many more years of that! Hope the rest of the week is boring and uneventful.
