Denver Zoo

Although it was a bit windy, the temperature was up so we headed to the Zoo. I LOVE how much the boys like going to the zoo. They get so excited about each animal they see. And I KNOW that the komono dragon is behind glass, but it took a huge interest in the boys. They were leaning on the glass and talking to it and the the dragon was practically climbing the walls to get to them (and not in a nice way I'm sure of it!) Again, I KNOW about the glass wall between them, but my heart was pounding out of my chest watching the interaction.

Easter '07

We had a great day yesterday - despite the blizzard. Ok, so it wasn't a blizzard, but it might as well have been. Snow on Easter!??!?! That's just wrong. So much for new sundresses and cute searsucker shorts.

We woke up to find the baskets that the Easter Bunny had left the night before. That Easter Bunny sure is nice! After church we went to Justin and Stacy's for a yummy Brunch, egg hunt and egg decorating. Later in the day we went to Grandpa Fred and Grandma Jane's house for another egg hunt. This last hunt was the 3rd for the boys this Easter. At this point I think they had it down. We opened the door for them to start and Ben was out of the chute like a race horse. He collected those eggs like his life depended on it.

THANK YA EASTA BUNNY!!!!!!!!

Easter Cont.

At the end of the day the Erik said that the boys could have one....ONE piece of chocolate each. Not a good idea!!!! Giving 2 year olds (who never eat candy, much less chocolate) sugar made for a really long night. The boys were gliding around their rooms like little monkeys until 10 last night. Bottom line - they had a great day.

Cookies and Eggs

Decorating Easter Eggs

We made Easter cookies and decorated eggs today. The weather was pretty yucky so we stayed inside most of the day. April 7th....snow and a high of 30 degrees (BTW Erin.....it was even too cold for US to go outside and play). The boys are on their way to bed right now. They are excited to go to sleep, because as soon as they go to bed....the Easter Bunny is on his way. Wahoooooooooooooo!

UPDATE

Yep, we DID end up going to the bouncy place after each woke up.

"Mommy, I don't need a nap"

I'll admit it. Sometimes I bribe my kids. Today's bribe was if they would lie down and take a little nap, they could go to the 'bouncy place'. Mmmmm Hmmmmm, the bouncy place with the firetruck slide, that's the one. We had the conversation that they would nap and then we could go. An hour and a half went by and still no nap (playing, jumping and laughing in their room, but no nap). Although Ben tried to tell me he napped.

Mommy comes into the room : "I guess since you didn't want to take a nap, you really didn't want to go to the bouncy place"
Ben: "Mommy, I was asleep.....but I woke up"

Riiiiiiiight!

Then Jake chimed in: "Mommy I want to go to the bouncy place and slide on the firetruck"
Mommy: "Alright Jake, will you take a nap?"
Jake: "yep"
Jake immediately goes to his bed and falls asleep.
Ben: "Mommy, I don't need to go the bouncy place, I'm not going to take a ni-ni"
Mommy: "That's fine Ben, but you will have to stay home with Jackson while Mommy and Jake go" (one of those false threats that Erik warns me not to make)
Ben: "Mommy, I will just stay home with Jackson and watch Little Einsteins"
Mommy: CRAP!!!..."fine Ben, but you will have to sit on the couch for some quiet time"
Five minutes later.....here is Ben

My friend Robyn was in town from Florida this week. She was having THE "big" birthday (I won't say which one) so there was a celebration that consisted of a shindig with early 80's dancing at a club that I had never heard of (not hard to do since I haven't been to a 'club' in years).

A friend of hers also hosted a birthday party for her son Mitchell (the cutie with the curly blonde hair) and an Easter Egg hunt. The boys had a lot of fun and it was great to see Robyn and her family.
