The boys and I have recently been spending a LOT of time outside and at various parks. I can't tell you how happy I am that my boys enjoy the outdoors. With the random Winter that we just had, I have been dying for some warm, fresh air. It was almost completely dark last night when the boys finally conceded and came inside.

The scooters seem to be their specialty. They ride those things like the big kids. It scares me a bit how daring they are, but I guess it's better than the alternative.

Daily conversations:

Mommy: Ben, you're silly
Ben: I not silly, I BEN!
Mommy: Jake, you're a goofball
Jake: Mommy, I'm NOT a goofball, I'm JAKE!

GOOOOOOOOO Avalanche!

We took the boys to their first Avalanche hockey game. I won't lie to you, we were a bit concerned about their attention span and wondered if we would make it for all 3 periods. Boy, were we suprised. Not only did they make it, they had a blast. They yelled and danced and clapped. Although I don't know what they liked better, the pizza and ice cream dots, or the game. Erik and I FINALLY made it on the "jumbotron". Out of all of the Avs games we've attended, we've NEVER been on that thing (not that I've ever really minded), but I'd say we were in our seats for all of five minutes and the cameras were on the boys. Of course they sucked it all up and gave the crowd a good show.

We found a face painter, but the boys opted for their hands....Jake wanted a Blues Clues dog and Ben wanted Elmo. What a great game to go to. The Avs beat San Jose 4-3 in overtime!!!
Yep, that's a pik of Joey Sakic getting interviewed (love him)!

YaaaaaaaY!

Guess what we found.....since we are still within our 10 day trial period with the SLR I told Erik that we could take the new camera back (since I found the old one and all - and I know what ya'll are thinking...but NO, I did NOT lose the camera on purpose just so that I could get the new one) - but he said that he has been wanting a better camera, and we are both going to take some classes to get better at photography 'n stuff!

ALSO (and this is important), our old camera is waterproof! And I know you are thinking to yourself, "why would Erik and Anita need a waterproof camera? Do they scuba dive? Do they snorkel?" Not usually, but they DO have 2 1/2 year old twins that like the toilet....A LOT!

Bummer

Now that I've admitted it to my husband, I can finally admit it to my blog readers......I've lost our camera...AGAIN!!!!! I think I need one of those straps that kids use for their gloves so that they don't lose them. Soooooooo, we are going to buy a new camera this weekend. Look for new posts coming soon.

Mommy's Mascara

So, I've been told that I have some pretty funny stories about the various things that the boys do, but I only put the sweet, cute pictures on the website. To appease those critics, I'm starting the post the "funnies" (see previous toity post). Frankly, I think you people like to laugh at my misery (although, I must admit it's always funnier to me a few days later). Here's today's "WHAT ARE YOU DOING????" post. Right after they got out of the bathtub they found my mascara - which immediately put them right back into the bathtub). Unfortunately for Ben, he had the waterproof mascara.

AAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!!! The boys have been infatuated with anything water. They love to play in the toilet - gross, I know! So......this is what the toity in their bathroom looks like right now. We are on our way to buy a lock to put on the bathroom door. Potty training is going to be hard now that they aren't allowed in the bathroom :)

Taking a Little Nap

Ever since we moved the boys into toddler beds (and out of the "cribjails"), they haven't wanted to take afternoon naps. BUT, they still get tired and need one. Yesterday, Jake thought that a good time to get a little sleep was during his peanut and jelly sandwich.

Sledding

We have had 3 snow storms in 3 weeks! Pete made a fun "Alpine Slide" type sled hill in his back yard (I could be wrong, but Lydia said she helped too - I don't know if I believe that she would actually brave the cold and snow long enough to do that, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt). It started on the side of the playhouse, all the way down to the back porch (if you've never seen their backyard....that's a long way)

Anyway, Ben, Rachel, Pete and Erik went back and forth on that hill/trail over 100 times (or so it seemed). We weren't prepared - notice pink boots and bibs - but Ben was having SO much fun - see permanent smile on his face -
